A buyer receives the parcel, is happy and leaves a good review. You assume that buyer will be back next month. That is how a shop works, but Vinted is not a shop.

In my data a buyer almost never comes back. Of 1,014 buyers who completed an order between May 2022 and March 2026, 20 ordered more than once. That changes where you put your energy.

This article counts buyers and not what they buy. The kinds of buyers are covered in the psychology of your buyer.

How I counted buyers

I took all completed orders in which I was the seller. That is 1,037 orders for which Vinted shows the buyer. In 23 completed orders my export shows no buyer. I leave those out.

A buyer in this count is a username. Those names do not appear in this article. Someone who changes username counts as two buyers for me. Several items in one order count as one order. So I measure whether someone orders again and not how much he buys.

Almost all buyers order once

Each square is one buyer. Pick a group to highlight it.

That is almost 2 percent returning buyers. Together they account for about 4 percent of all orders. The other 96 percent of orders come from buyers who ordered once.

Returning buyers are concentrated in 2025, the year with by far the most orders. In 2022 and 2023 nobody ordered twice within the same calendar year. Three buyers ordered in more than one calendar year.

Whoever comes back, usually comes back fast

The median is 19 days and the longest gap is 234 days. Eleven of the twenty buyers placed the second order within 30 days. Sixteen of the twenty ordered the second time within 90 days.

Why these buyers came back, I cannot see. Without that answer this stays a count and not an explanation.

What this means for your approach

In my numbers a seller on Vinted gets almost every order from a new buyer. Your listing has to reach that buyer again every time.

What I take from it: do not build your planning on buyers who come back. Almost every order comes from a buyer who orders only once. More on reach is in how the Vinted algorithm works.

If you still want to test repeat buyers, look at the first month after an order. Eleven of the twenty returning buyers ordered again in that period. How a bundle discount fits in is covered in bundle discounts on Vinted.

What these numbers do not tell you

These are the buyers of one account, mostly Ralph Lauren. A seller with a different range or price level may see a different number. I also do not know how many of my buyers come back to other sellers, because I cannot see that.

Usernames can change. The real number of returning buyers can therefore differ slightly from my count.

Frequently asked questions

Do buyers come back on Vinted?

In my data rarely. Of the 1,014 buyers, 20 ordered more than once.

How fast does a buyer come back on Vinted?

Half of the returning buyers ordered again within 19 days. Eleven of the twenty did so within 30 days.

Is it worth trying to keep buyers on Vinted?

My numbers give no reason to, but they give no reason not to either. They only show how rare it is in my case.

The shortest summary

In my data almost 2 percent of buyers order more than once, and whoever comes back usually does so within a month. Almost every order therefore comes from a new buyer. This is a count from one account and not an explanation.

Do not build your sales on buyers who come back, and count how many orders each buyer places before you build a strategy on it.
